(ARA) - Of all the odd types of movies made, perhaps one of the strangest combinations is when a seemingly scary horror flick tries to add a light touch by integrating comedy. It has been done successfully, with some becoming cult classics, but others - who do it poorly - become a target of mockery.
Zombieland, showing in theaters nationwide starting Oct. 2, hopes to tread on this touchy ground. The show's concept: Earth has been overtaken by zombies and a group of odd and interesting personalities find a way to survive the madness.
The movie's concept might leave you rolling your eyes until you hear who the actors are. The lead character Tallahassee is a gun wielding, sassy modern-day cowboy played by none other than Woody Harrelson. To add some comedy into the mix, Bill Murray is the lead zombie.
There are some fresh faces too, like Jesse Eisenberg, who plays Columbus, a gentle looking young lad who generally is a wuss; and Emma Stone, who you might recognize from Superbad, who plays Wichita - a gal who has found unique ways to survive the zombie mayhem.
Zombieland could very well prove to be 2009's guilty pleasure. Visit
